At the Annual General meeting of Abeokuta Golf Club held on 14th February 1992, a Leadership crisis was created when elections were about to be held into the offices of the Executive Commitee. As a result of this crisis, the idea of a Caretaker Committee to run the affairs of the Club for six months was adopted. The Committee was firther madated to choose its officers from amongst its members. Members of the Caretaker Committee are as follows :
1. Apagun Wole Olumide
2. Hon. Justice Ademola Bakre
3. Chief Wale Otesile
4. Chief Siji Koku
5. Dr Segun Orelaja
The Committee later chose Apagun Wole Olumide as its Chairman and Dr Segun Orelaja as its Secretary. Dr. Segun Orelaja soon after resigned from the Committee in protest on the way and manner the affairs of the Committee ws being run. Segun Labiran (now deceased) was brought in by the Committee to take over as Secretary
